Banc is a commercial building on the corner of Cronulla Street and Ocean Grove Avenue, in the southern suburb of Cronulla. The heritage listed building was built for the Commonwealth Bank in 1938 in the art deco style. It was incorporated into a new redevelopment in 2018 which converted the former bank to a restaurant and created boutiques and luxury apartments behind it. The old bank can be seen here.

Definitely looks art deco, I like buildings like this, so different from today.
ReplyDeleteThat is very cool! Lovely #TheRandom
ReplyDeleteWhat a striking blend of history and modern design—it's always encouraging to see heritage buildings like Banc thoughtfully preserved and given new life.
ReplyDeleteNice name change!
ReplyDeleteThe heritage listed Commonwealth Bank, built in 1938, looks like perfect art deco architecture. But the original colours were a bit ordinary, so I am very happy with the fresh white outside.
ReplyDeleteThe pastel colours were popular in this beachside suburb a few years back but we're now in a white/black/grey era as we also see in other parts of the city.
