Looking underneath Tom Uglys Bridge, which crosses the Georges River and links the southern suburbs of Blakehurst and Sylvania. This truss bridge on the left, opened in 1929 and the box girder bridge on the right, opened in 1987. To the north is Tom Uglys Point at Blakehurst, believed to be named after local resident Tom Huxley and transformed by the mispronunciation by local Aborigines.

I love that name - even if it IS mispronounced!
